Established in 1957, Yasuda Cutlery is one of the leading kitchen knife makers in Seki City, and Minamoto is the brand name of Yasuda Cutlery. Mr. Noboru Yasuda is the second-generation owner, and his son, who gained experience at another manufacturer, has returned to work with him. And several veteran craftsmen are also working together.

The Minamoto-Swedish steel series is made of Sandvik steel from Sweden and has been well received by users in Japan, Europe and the United States for many years.
Swedish steel is a familiar material for Japanese knives, has been used for over 100 years, and Sandvic 19C27 Steel is known for its sharpness and rust resistance. The blade and cutting edge are thinly finished and smoothly enter the ingredients.

  1. Blade  : Made of Sandvik 19C27 High Carbon Stailess Steel. Sandvik is one of the biggest steel companies in the world which was founded in Sweden 1862. And this [19C27] is highest quality steel from Sandvik. This special steel (1) offers super sharpness (2) resistance to oxidation and (3)easy to resharpen.
  2. Tsuba : This part is called Tsuba. There is no space between the blade and handle. So keep clean, and prevents corruption. Almost high-class kitchen knife has Tsuba.
